This will be my second outing to Eroticon. Last year was such a blast that I couldn’t wait to go again. In keeping with Eroticon tradition, we’re doing a meet and greet in advance, so for those who don’t know me, here’s a little to go on.
NAME (and Twitter if you have one)
I’m using the pen name Alun Norley. It isn’t my real name but I haven’t strayed far –Alun will do just fine. As for twitter, I’m still not using it to its full potential.

What are you most looking forward to about Eroticon 2018?
There’s so much to choose from that it’s difficult to pick just one thing and being surrounded by like-minded people brings its own rewards. Given the way that the UK is going, one thing that I don’t want to miss is Neil Brown’s presentation on Essential legal tips for sex writers and bloggers. Unfortunately, three others that I would have liked to have done I won’t be able to because they clash with others that I should do. Oh why can’t I be in two places at once? Suggestion for next year –can all the lectures be recorded and made available to attendees afterwards via a secure site?
I’m also looking forward to seeing the friends that I made last year as well as meeting some new ones.
We are creating a play list of songs for the Friday Night Meet and Greet. Nominate one song that you would like us to add to the play list and tell us why you picked that song
I thought this would be a difficult question to answer but when I sat down to write, it just came to me, and it’s obvious why. This song has been in my life for forty years and every time I hear it I’m reminded of how I met my S.O. It’s a song that I’ve always associated with happy memories, we even had this song played at our wedding. Any other choice would have to be from the Ivor Biggun playlist, and no one wants that.
What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid?
Difficult. I actually ended up doing exactly what I told my dad I’d do when he asked me what I’d like to be, aged four. Sort of. Aviation Engineer was not a good career choice. I loved it for a while, then grew to hate it once I realised just how badly paid I was, given the amount of studying required and the responsibility. Make a mistake and people die.
I still don’t know what my dream job would be. I’d love to be a writer of course, wouldn’t we all? Well there is this one job…but I think that billionaire playboy jobs are hard to come by.
Weirdest place you’ve ever gotten up to mischief (define ‘mischief’ however you like…)
Erm…Well I’m a bit of a practical joker, so I’m always up to mischief –but as Molly kicked this off with strange places to do it, I’ll go there as well. I’m going to nominate three as I can’t pick a favourite. They were all special after all. In a cave on a Portuguese beach, the river bank at Royal Windsor (you might be sensing a water theme here), and lastly, the gem stone room at the Natural History Museum. Big flowing gypsy skirts are great aren’t they?
Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself
In no particular order…
I’ve never read any of the 50 shades books.
I’m an old romantic.
I’ve easily seen Star Wars over two hundred times.
Complete the sentence: I want..
To knuckle down with my writing this year and I’m hoping that I will find my muse again along with new ideas and the knowledge to help me grow to a point where I’ll actually want to share my work.
Now that you’ve gotten to know me, why not head here to meet the other attendees?
See on the Friday night for drinks!
I like your suggestion of recording the other sessions. That’s a great idea.

I did make some audio recordings last year on my dictaphone. Not that I can hear much, but they have been useful.

Hi Alun
We have had many people ask about the recordings sadly it is not as simple as it sounds. Firstly making good sound recordings requires equipment hat we would need to hire or buy and then you need a sound engineer to make sure it is recording properly. Michael is actually one of those but he can’t be in multiple rooms at once and then on top of that I know we would have speakers who would not want to be recorded for fear of having their voice identified outside of the Eroticon world….. opps and I also forget, making sure that only Eroticon people had access to it is also not as simple as it sounds.
Having said all that it is something we are constantly reviewing and if we could manage it we would start by recording a couple of sessions and see how that goes.

Wonderful to e-meet you! I loved your idea for the recordings, as I too have a lot of clashes in the sessions I’d love to attend (basically because I want to attend them all lol). It is such a shame it isn’t possible.

I like the idea of recordings too, but second what Molly’s said as it is a little bit tricky! But I know that some speakers this year are planning to get talk materials up on websites etc so we will always share that with Eroticon people where we can too!
And for your truths and a lie… can I guess that the Star Wars one is a lie? I’ve known some Star Wars fans but I can’t think anyone would see it 200 times… though if that’s true maybe you’ve got a world record? =)

I have definitely seen Star Wars over 100 times. I’ll leave that there. 😜
There were a few last year that did provide a website link to their talk. Malin James is one that comes to mind and was extremely useful. Will you be posting links for all those that do?

Nice to meet you and looking forward to meeting you in real life as well. I am hoping that #1 is true, although I guess it’s all right if you hate-read them ;-).

Hi! Lovely to meet you☺️
Your so lucky not to of read any of the 50shades books. maîtriser tried reading them to us as a bed time story, even with his French accent they were boring as hell!
Impressed with the natural History Museum thing! Bravo!

Hi back. Actually I read the first two pages of the first book. I just didn’t feel hooked so didn’t bother.
As for the museum…the things we do in our youth. There were others of course. 😂
See you there!

I wish people in the US were more tolerant. Their puritanical views are so prevalent that I’d never be able to attend such an event, especially with my wife, as she is quite Puritanical and getting more so.
I wish you all the fun you can handle this year and I wish I could visit across the pond as it were.

I’m not sure just how much longer England will be quite so tolerant as a whole. The government is bringing in more and more draconian laws all the time. Certainly the American friends that I have are all so open and accepting that I truly hope that an event like Eroticon could return to the the US city near you. I know that there are a few similar events in California.

I’m on the east coast, closer to our English cousins. I wish my wife were more tolerant…and accepting. she used to peg me, but then she stopped. I need and crave it…but she won’t give it. she even fisted me a few times…but alas, no more of that either. I’d leave her for a sweet ladyboy…and probably just as happy. We don’t always get what we want, but we do get what we need.
